Here, I think of what it's like to be a child. Growing up, your 'lines' (morals/truths) are 'automatically drawn' (chosen for you).

So, in all, I think this song has a 'HOLY SHIT WHAT IS LIFE' sort of vibe. He doesn't know the answers, he just was thrown into the world without explanation. However, by the end, perhaps he realizes he can take on his own meaning, by the lyrics:
