I also think it's about addiction. I love this song.

"If I died on the screens" When you use a substance you sometimes feel out of body like you're watching yourself, on a screen. Practicing addicts often feel very self-destructive and don't really care about death. It's like you're watching you destroy yourself and you feel like there's nothing you can do but watch.

"Life tearing at the seams" Addiction tears your life apart.

"I don't ever wanna be here Like punching in a dream breathing life into my nightmare" No one wants to be an addict and you don't see yourself going down that path until you're there. All you can do is say this isn't were I ever wanted to end up. Once you're there it's very difficult to get out of the nightmare.

"Bright lights turn me clean" You end up in the hospital or a rehabilitation center and you get clean.

“This is worse than it seems” A big part of addiction is hiding it even from yourself. When you final come to terms with it you realize that you're worse that you and maybe other people realized.

“They'll get through They'll get you” Your compositions and addiction will follow you forever. Your thoughts will continue to go to a place were you want to use.

“In the place that you feel it the most When you're cornered When it's forming” People use drugs and alcohol to get away from pain. When you're cornered or feeling stress or pain you can feel the thoughts forming. “In the place that you wish was a ghost” You wish you didn't have these thoughts. You wish that they would become a ghost that no longer haunts you everyday but it's there and it's staying.
