Asleep

I know everyone thinks that this song is about suicide, and it probably is, but this is my interpretation. I think the song is about someone who knows they are going to die, from an illness or injury. They are telling their significant other that they want them to stay with them until they fall asleep for the last time, then leave them to pass away quietly. In the following: Don't feel bad for me I want you to know Deep in the cell of my heart I will feel so glad to go They are telling them not to be sad, because they will be happy that their death is putting an end to their sadness and suffering. And in: There is another world There is a better world Well, there must be They are saying that there must be an afterlife in which they will be happy and healthy, and free from their troubles.
