I don't think this is really what the song is about, but a funny thought occurred to me. You know how girlfriends are always asking what you're thinking? Taking this song mixed with Cliffhanger (1), it's like some guy is zoned out having an awesome daydream and his girlfriend wants to know what's inside his head to see if he was paying attention to her.
He knows it's a risk to tell her what he's really thinking, but he has to choose between her being mad for not telling and suspects that she'll be mad if he tells the truth, but it's better than lying. He decides to just tell her, and she finds out that it's not sentimental or about what they're doing together, that's when the avalanche starts. :P
