Basically, a shot at religion. Pretty straight forward. He's saying, "if there is a god, what the hell are you doing? What did we do to you to deserve this? Why are you doing this to us? Would you want us to do this to you?". The second verse ends in a different way though. He is obviously accepting that religion/god is made up, and so it seems he's addressing the person who made it up and is questioning why somebody would put into people's heads the idea that this "god" is justified in bringing these terrible things (hurricanes, rape, etc) into the world.

If there was ever a wonder if J. Loren is an atheist, this about clears it up (though, it has been clear since Vol. I....). Heard this song for the first time and absolutely loved it.

I'd say you nailed it. Also, Adonai is Hebrew for one of the names of God. One of the names that is used as God's name is never to be spoken by man. I think Adonai is the name, but not positive. Makes sense to use a "sacred" name in a song about challenging the existence God.

@RoleMartyrX it is a crying out many people feel and have. Why so much bas ‘if God exists’ … sadly when eve partook of the fruit of good and evil this is the fallout of God being his word. We are experiencing evil because we as mankind asked for that.

Sucks but so does letting your son be the redemption for that decision.
