The Preakness Lyrics

I think this song seems to be Panda Bear doing some self-reflection by talking to a horse "The Preakness," a horserace course He's asking himself what it means to quit, what you might lose or miss out on, and thinking about what it means to the horse too- "yours [the horse] might be a den to sleep in, mine [panda] is just a way of being" He doesn't want to make a judgement of the horse's [and perhaps his own] passion or dedication, and in the end he says "I'd like just to say, keep it up" till it gets what it's after (in competition or satisfaction or whatever it might be) And then "see your hopes become my hopes" -

Tl;dr he is doing some self-reflecting by seeing aspects of himself in the racehorse
