Personally I feel that this song is about a heavily weak relationship. The couple are in love, but as the relationship breaks down due to lack of trust/honesty and presumably other common factors, they feel no emotion and 'none of us are crying'. They don't want the relationship to end as they don't want to give up, 'no one pulls out here', however, as they feel no emotion they know inside them that the relationship is supposed to end, and so they 'hope for heartbreak' which will make them more determined to maintain their relationship. But as no heartbreak occurs, the couple are just staying in a relationship so they can say that they tried to keep the relationship going, even though their own lack of feelings assures them they must 'pull out' and give up.
