Yes, the members of the group were a bunch of snotty little rockers, but there was musical genius there. Other incredible pieces - "Quadrophenia" and "The Rock" on the Quadrophenia album. If those works don't elicit emotion in you, you don't have the volume turned up enough. And Townsend wrote "Tommy" when he was 23 and "Quadrophenia" when he was 28. This man is the Mozart of the 20th century.
