Losing Hope Lyrics

I got a faulty parachute, I got a stranger's friend An excitin' change in my butchers blend A symbol on the ceilin' with the flick of a switch Yeah, my new found hero and the enemy's ditchin'

Nothing trustworthy enough to rely on. Being friends with someone who is a stranger is not a friend at all. There are new changes in life that are not liked (most likely not planned) and he is calling out for a hero (symbol- flick of a switch... batman hero signal) that may frighten the enemy (I take this as God and Satan)

Well somebody's something was left in the room And now that its gone well of course we assume That somebody else needed something so bad That they took everything somebody had

People in this world will take what you have and are willing to hurt you in order to help themselves. We are selfish people. Most likely he was let down somehow by the person he felt was his best friend

Losin' hope is easy When your only friend is gone And every time you look around Well it all, it all just seems to change

This line is what drives me to this song. Oh how I hate change.

The mark was left, man, it's never the same Next time that you shoot make sure that you aim Open windows with passin' cars A brand new night with the same old stars

The damage is done; I guess you can say their relationship will never be the same once that trust is gone. Make sure you’re letting down the right person next time. Cars passing by can symbolize you feeling stuck in the same troubled spot.

Losin' hope is easy When your only friend is gone And every time you look around Well it all, it all just seems to change Feed the fool a piece of the pie Make a fool of his system, make a fool of his mind Give him bottles of lies and maybe he'll find His place in Heaven 'cause he might just die

I take it he is being ironically sarcastic to whoever hurt him... letting em know there was serious damage done and it hurts so bad... he might just die

Losin' hope is easy When your only friend is gone And every time you look around Well it all, it all just seems to change But hangin' on is easy When you've got a friend to call When nothin's makin' sense at all You're not the only one who's afraid of change

Where do you buy friends like these is my question? I just recently lost touch of my best friend. I’ve never had a friend like her and all of the sudden we slowly stopped texting and hanging out. God it’s already hard for me to open up to people and there’s no amount of anything that can replace a good friend. I need you in times like these Oli :(

My Interpretation

Just created an account on this site, only to tell you how spot on I think you are with your interpretation of this song.

@Rosalia326 "Where do you buy friends like these is my question?" You can't and shouldn't buy friends. Relationships are hard and need to be worked on and it's hardest to work on them when you're feeling down but it's also perhaps the best moment to do it. Call you friend, ask how they're doing, what they've been up to, say that you would feel better if they could call back sometime to chat or meet up. Just be strong enough to pick up the phone and press the buttons, the rest will come to you. As Jack says: "hangin' on...
