I don't know why this hasn't got any comments yet. It's by far my favorite song on the new EP.
I think it's definitely literal--like an American. The person she's singing about is the personification of what an American is, whether the person is, in fact, American or not. This could possibly be about her boyfriend--even though he's from the UK, he could make her feel like she's home, in America, because of the familiar traits he has that many Americans do.
Of course, alternatively, this could be her exclamation of her love for LA.
That's my two cents, even though everything I've said is most likely wrong. I'd really like to hear other theories or an actual, concrete meaning behind the song, so please speak up, everyone. :)
