Cover art for It Really Doesn't Matter lyrics by Electric Light Orchestra

jeff lynnes writing on the zoom album is par his usual musings on feelings of longing, regret and loss. Zoom I believe refers to his recent new girlfriend and his breakup with his wife. 1st verse a past reflection of living in LA after England, he learned alot in LA, and reflects past success and current success as "waving his magic wand " 2nd verse, refers to rosie vella who he had met years previously but did not find "common ground" nothing was ventured and muses it must have been the wrong season. 3rd They worked together at length in real life , and he flew her high low etc etc , then she sang him a song. The repeating chorus is now that he found her, and it doesn't matter how it happened it did and that's good enough.
