If you know anything about Mayday Derek is a much much much better pianist than Jason (Not saying Jason isn't good just that Derek is better) and a bit better a guitar and I've heard knows his way around bass a bit as well and Jason has said it's hard for him to sit down and write out notes. Lyrics come easy but the music does not come as easily. Mayday was fighting about other things like when did help write music he wrote Jake off chorus and most things had to be his way.
