Why would this have anything to do with Mayday? My friend said it was about Derek but speaking as someone who's met the guys from Mayday and got to know them pretty well none of them would ever ever ever steal someones girls.
Also Mayday is NOT "stealing" Jason's songs. Jason wrote Miserable At Best while with Mayday so Mayday owns the song and it's copy write. Jason quit AFTER A Lesson In Romantics for a reason; because he helped write those songs FOR THAT ALBUM. No one is stealing anything okay?
This song is totally about Katie. If you listen to Miserable At Best at all you can tell that someone back AT HOME (so obviously not in Mayday) is trying to steal her away while he is on tour. This song is probably sorta a follow up.
Also no one made Mayday BUT Mayday! Mayday Parade puts out great music with and without Jason. Yes, I did fall in love with Mayday before even A Lesson In Romantics but I still love those guys to death. Jason was not the only member in the band. He went his own direction. You can still hear a little Mayday in song of his songs but it's also a whole new sound and that's what he wanted. They're different bands, you can't expect the same sound. It's like you can't expect Something Cooperate to sound like Jacks Mannequin. It'd be stupid to make the new Project sound like your others.
Derek would NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER STEAL SOMEONE'S GIRL FRIEND.EVER. I CANNOT STRESS HOW STUPID THAT COMMENT WAS. THE KID DOESN'T EVEN HAVE IT IN HIM TO FREAKING EAT MEAT AND THE FACT YOU THINK SO LOWLY OF HIM IS RIDICULOUS. Yes, it wasn't entirely Jason's fault he left the band but if you think Derek would ever steal someone girlfriend you need to get your facts straight. He is literally in the top 10 nicest people I've ever met category along with Alex, Jeremy, Brooks and Jake. NONE OF THEM HAVE IT IN THEM. I seriously cannot state how utterly perplexed I am right now. I mean DEREK? DEREK SANDERS STEALING SOMEONES GIRL FRIEND? No. It just wouldn't happen. Sorry but, You're Dead Wrong.
(Sorry not sorry for the Mayday song reference.)
