Sometimes his songs are filled with various imageries, and this song is no different. I believe this is one of those that is designed to convey a real experience of some trip to Mexico with his love that included real experiences of the crossing the river and meeting meeitng the DEA fugitive and the bar with the singer that sounded just like Marty Robbins ( who I also love) and the burros and everything that paints the detail of his picture.
One of my big time favs and whether I cue this up on my Ipod, or, put in a CD, or just simply come across an opportunity to hear this song.... I'll turn it up... tune out the local disrupting noiises, and sing along with my boy.... the King of the sing-along
