Cover art for Candy lyrics by Robbie Williams

"I was there to witness Candice's inner princess"

Her guardian angel, or real self. (At least in the video)

"She wants the boys to notice Her rainbows, and her ponies"

Inside she believes in the stereotypical faerytale old fashion love scenario, of knights in shining amour, and her being the beautifull pretty princess... (I'm really not sure about the pony refference. Ponytails could mean childish innoncence)

"She was educated But could not count to ten"

She has many talents about her, intelligense, talents, maybe wisdom. But she's more buisy acting dumb.

"How she got lots of different horses By lots of different men"

I'm really not sure what the horses represent. Mobility, freedom, money? But I think it's about being promisquious.

"Liberate your sons and daughters The bush is high But in the hole there's water"

She's a Hollywood star that isn't setting a good eksampel for anyone, by being slutty.

"You can get some, when they give it"

Sex from men, or money from the mannagers, who pay girls to dress slutty in music videos.

"Nothing sacred, but it's a living"

She's not seing sexuality, as something sacred, by flaunting everything on national TV, but she makes money on it nevertheless, which is all she cares for apparantly.

"Hey ho here she goes"

Obviously a play with the words, saying "hey whore"

"Either a little too high or a little too low Got no self-esteem and vertigo 'Cause she thinks she's made of candy"

She makes a scene, and takes things to the ekstreemes, with the way she dress and how she acts, till it becomes a little too nasty, and to the point that she looses her selfesteem. But she thinks that's where it's at. Hence she thinks she's great/Candy, when she's really just a slut. Her name is Candi which represents herself, but she ain't Candy/herself. Candi representing all the Hollywood promisquous stars.

"Hey ho here she goes Either a little too loud or a little too close"

Again might be too forward with the men, and a bit much in bed. Or her songs are a little too sexy. She might have a big mouth, trying really hard, to be heard, and to be popular.

"There's a hurricane in the back of her throat"

Her songs are to in your face about sex, not sure about the hurricane refference. Maybe again too blunt and forward...

"And she thinks she's made of candy"

She thinks she's great, but she's not

"Ring a ring of roses Whoever gets the closest She comes and she goes"

She will fuck anyone in sight

"As the war of the roses"

Roses representing a womens private parts, could mean she got herself into trouble by being promisquous: Rape, abuse.

"Mother was a victim Father beat the system By moving bricks to Brixton And learning how to fix them"

Could be aboout sexist society influencing these girls, or how these girls óften have parrents, that are unstable.

"Liberate your sons and daughters"

She should set a better eksample, for the young boys and girls, that watch Mtv

"As you win She'll be the Hollywood love"

If she sets the eksample. Hollywood will like her

"And if it don't feel good What are you doing this for Now tell me"

Obviously she's doing this for anyone but herself, and she's not happy.

My Interpretation

@starfaery I know it's been over 10 years, but I think your interpretation of these lyrics just show you have an unclean mind. Like "the war of the roses" just refers to the actual series of wars, not rape.
