I am wondering what these lyrics exactly refer to?!?! I am thinking it is mainly like going with the flow and starting something new, but not quite sure.

I'm not great at interpreting song lyrics, and I had no idea about this guns n roses affair, but I always get the idea she's talking about death in this song. More in the sense that her lover has died and is in heaven and she is ready to be with him. I get this message mainly from the beginning:
"Gargoyle's standing at the front of your gates, trying to tell me wait (until her time on earth is up" but I can't wait to see you. So I run like a child to heavens door. (ready for death) I don't...

(ready for death) I don't want to be bad but I won't cheat you no more." (In some sense ending life early is considered unforgivable, but she can't live the life separated anymore)
Again in the chorus I feel like she is describing heaven with the lines:
"Roses, Bel Air, take me there, Palm trees in the light, I can see late at night"
and again, saying shes ready for death with
"Take me there, I've been waiting to meet you, Darling I'm waiting to greet you."
Finally, the ending...
"Don't be afraid of me, Don't be ashamed, walking away of my soft resurrection. "
I say she is implying they shouldn't be embarrassed or ashamed of her when she is in heaven for "foolishly" ending a life early and walking away from her, when she did it for love.
"Idol of roses, iconic soul, I know your name. Lead me to war with your brilliant direction."
kind of iffy, but I still see it as show me the way so we can be together.
