i think this is about Catholicism, priests and confession, maybe the jesus remark is just a guy's conscience giving him anxiety as he goes about his deed - just a guy offloading his junk into another guy's face, but as he tries to off himself he feels he will be judged by all that he learned in churches. he seems to survive unsmitten somehow as he is now having to tell his priest that he has nothing to report.
