Evita's Lament just might be Lady Madonna's best and saddest performance of her singing career! And Inside, Madonna's All Still Wet!-and Therefore-Sad! The lady's Sad and Wet Tears Stream and Fall down her beautiful Detroit Face, as if something heartbreaking, sad and terrible is happening to her-Good ol' Madge Ciccone simply has a good cry and now that she's old enough to live her dream as an artist/chanteuse at 54, Madonna wears her scars proudly. The minute I hopped out the theater after I saw Evita, I gained a whole new respect and appreciation for Madonna. Some years later during the Reinvention Tour in June of 04 at Verizon Center, I simply marveled at her sadness and her strength during her performance that it was absolutely chilling, mesmerizing and heartbreaking as Madonna sang and cried the lyrics in her sad Kabbalah Evita/W.E voice. Maddy Cries "The choice was mine and mine completely/I could have had any Prize that I desired/I could burn with the Splendor of the Brightest Fire!/Or else or else I could choose Time!/Remember, I was very young then/And a year was Forever and a day!/So what use could 50, 60, 70 be?/I saw the Ray of Light and I was on my way!/And how I Lived to Tell!/How I shone!/But how soon the lights were Gone!," with such finality that all Madonna can do is Cry Her Broken Heart Out! There Will Never Be Another Madonna. No one will ever take her place. All the world-including myself-will be very sad when Madonna Louise Ciccone exits Planet Earth so let's enjoy her while there's time. Her Artistry and music will live Forever long after the likes of controversy, outrage and the Sex book fade from view. Madonna Forever! In the Evidence of Her Brilliance!
