its a bummer, i've heard ALOT of mixed opinions about My Love is Winter. as i said in Panopticon; Winter is a term in the album, meaning a negative connotation of the near future, being cold and distant."My Love is Winter, My Love is Gone" it makes perfect sense, following Violet Rays, he was cheated on, now his love is gone. its sad :( even the riffs seem cold and distant. the loud parts in this song are good, but the truelly amazing parts, are the quieter parts, the kind of 'synth-riff' before the cold solo, is really climatic. i don't know why anyone could hate this song :/ but it follows Violet Rays really well, and One Diamond, One Heart is perfect following MLIW, giving love another chance.
The only thing I will add is that the end seems to provide a bit of hope as the last words are Billy repeating, "there is love, love, love..."

The entire way through the song every time he mentions love, he follows it up by saying it is lost. At the end though he comes to the realization that there is just love, with no more mention of the loss.

I agree with this pretty much 100%.
