Pretty Dancer Lyrics

I think it's about oppression and about people turning against it -

"Diamonds in production glow greater than the pressure, The none turn to some and the some turn to moire, The more tun to many and the many turn to all, Shoutin' on my nothing like it's nothing at all"

Also it's Mos Def who sees himself as someone who fights against oppression, who is a symbol for people like Ali

My favorite line is: "Too busy surviving to argue 'bout Darwin, Darling!" - as Darwinists try to apply laws of nature/evolution on humans, Mos Def sees humans (poor people) in middle of this evolutionary fight, where the fitter (=richer survives).

Love this song!
