Straightforward rock song with that driving hard rock guitar sound, plus that familiar, awesome, ELO orchestration.
I take these lyrics literally. He knows a beautiful girl and he's going to make her his. He can love her, he can give her lots of children, and he can dominate and satisfy her. Dominate? Yes. I think the sex and implications of dominance aren't subtle.
"There's one thing that's on my mind
And that's a gettin' hold of you before I serve my time"
"Gettin' hold of you", only comes across as aggressive to me and definitely sexual.
"Gonna get you in the corner so that I can keep"
Again, aggressive, sexual comment, plus he's telling her she'll like it. Be with me and you'll stay with me because I'll satisfy you.
I also take, "serve my time", to be literal. He's going to jail/prison for some time and he wants to be with her and make her his girl before he goes.
This is just a great classic rock song. Classic in structure, classic rock 'n roll lyrics, and Jeff Lynne can growl out an aggressive, angry sounding vocal as well, if not better, than anyone. One of my favorites!
