You can find a lot of ways that this song looks like its about acid but I really don't think it is...I don't have a source but I read this a while ago. The song is about open mindedness and outlook on life in general. It's about being able to look at things from every perspective.

He's basically saying "I'm not necessarily talking about drugs, I'm just talking about seeing things in a different light and learning through experience rather than thinking about everything as preconcieved notions that you've already made your mind up about."
