As a new mom, this song was probably very important for her to write and express. I recently saw an interview she gave where she talked about her belief that while men are "generous", women are "selfless", and I think in this song she's obviously saying that women can be too selfless, to the detriment of themselves. Being a mom to a toddler, finding the balance to provide this precious person with your attention and devotion while not losing yourself or ignoring your needs is very challenging. But she knows that in order to take care and be of service to her son, she needs to look after herself too. Whether we're parents or not, we can all relate to this message of making ourselves (not our jobs or our schools or even to an extent out relationships) a priority.
