No More "I Love Yous" Lyrics

Those who think this song is about child abuse are simply incorrect. It is, as others have suggested, about falling out of love with someone who once completely infatuated the person in the song, but didn't return that love.

The opening line in the original song is, "I used to be lunatic from your gracious face.", meaning just the sight of his lover's face drove him crazy with desire, etc. That would hardly be the perspective of a child to his/her abuser.

Also, the line sung by the chorus introducing the second verse, "The lover speaks about the monsters." identifies the singer as "the lover", again hardly a description of a child.

Finally, the lines "I used to have demons in my room at night Desire, despair, desire, so many monsters." are not typical emotions a child would be dealing with alone in their room at night - here the singer is clearly going through the turmoil of desiring the person, and despairing that they will never see them again, etc.
