Nightingale Lyrics

I think this song writer is musing over a past love interest. Hearing the nightingale singing, she is hoping to hear news of her love. She's wrangling with a question she's afraid to ask herself, because the answers scare her. Did he ever/does he still care? Should she get back in touch and confess her love? Is she missing her chance at something real? In any case, we don't know the question, which may hold the key to all these things, but the answer to the core question is either yes or no. And she doesn't know the answer (I don't know which way the feather falls), or whether she'll go ahead and make a decision without knowing (blow it to the left). She's been getting advice about what to do, and what to feel, but knows the weight of the decision rests solely on her. So she asks the nightingale to take her away so she won't have to face the reality of the decision she's facing.

At least that's what this song says to me. I can relate.

Babbage your description is beautifully written and well put and maybe I'm wrong, but I feel you know exactly how this must feel? To be able to have such deep understanding. I can relate myself to be honest, keeps me up at night not knowing the answers to all the questions in my head. Your description are like words out my own mouth that just couldn't speak myself. Beautiful, thanks
