I think I know what this song is about. The fruit has been tasted and their blood is on your hands. (reference to Genesis) You won't know the truth soon enough my friend. Did you think that ended it? Do you really think it's over? You will have all of the answers soon enough my friend. You're standing near the edge. The first guy sees clearly that without salvation the other will fall and won't go to heaven, he tries to share this vision, but the other doesn't have the eyes to see. He doesn't want the other person to fall, but slowly realises that he himself cannot shed enough light for him to understand. Where are we supposed to go? I want you to remember this. Just because I understand, doesn't mean I really care. The other stubbornly disagrees, and even though the words he understands, he doesn't really care because he cannot see, and hides in his own self-constructions of truth, which self-made lies he doesn't want to leave behind. Seeing the imminent demise of the other person, the first person (more than probably a christian) continuously tries to show him the truth, but the truth is too far from him to bear. Have you become smarter than your own father? Are you ready to lead with no lesson? Your death will bring you all the answers that you've been looking for. How does it feel to kill? Ironically, the truth needed to be saved WILL be revealed when it's already too late. Not listening right now would be suicide, like just stopping your heart from beating, or holding your breath untill death. Now I don't know wether the word father here should be written with a capital F or not, but either way, his stubborn belief in his own self-constructions, once again, keeps him from understanding. Feeding himself with these sweet lies will become his demise, and in a last ditch attempt the christian shows him the inconvenient, harsh future that is for him to bear: Falling from the sky, day one. You never learned to fly. Day one, the beginning of creation. Yet as he is born in this corrupt world, he cannot see and cannot save himself. Falling into the ocean, day seven. You never learned to swim. The seventh day, in this verse there is obviously a parallel drawn with Adam, who after the seventh day ate the fruit and basically died. (became mortal) This is the day soon to come, the day he dies. The day he sinks into afterlife. Sinking to the bottom of the ocean, day twenty. How could you see the bottom? The first period of time in hell, will there ever be an end? Desperation that awaits him, never to end. Sinking to the bottom of the ocean, day one hundred... day one hundred... day one hundred. The eternity in hell, the bottom still not seen. He loses count. Day hundred. Which day is it now? It does not matter, the time is over, infinity has begun. The day that he stops counting... Despair infinite. Why can‘t you see the bottom? Why can‘t you see the bottom? Why can‘t you see? Why won't you see this cruel fate that will soon be yours, when I clearly show it to you!? Why won't you listen to these words sent to save? Why won't you listen to me, I do not wish for this to be yours. This song's lyrics are VERY radical. True, but harsh. This portrays the pain that every christian experiencing. The knowledge of what is to come, seeing their demise, yet them not listening to you. You want to help them, and save them from this fate, but they do not want to. They do not see because they do not know, and they do not know because they will not see. It's a vicious circle, that can only be broken by God himself. God himself must touch the heart of man to make him see, because we are to stubborn to accept the truth ourselves. Which is probably what's gonna happen in the comments to this comment :( I hope I cleared things up for you guys, I gave it my best try! PS: Let me know if I missed anything, and if there are any questions. :) If the message in this song offends you, well, I think the song itself tells enough to those already. You can disagree that we might not be right, but well I'm afraid you'll find out soon enough, like the song says. Please listen before it is too late. PSS: Sorry for any possibly bad grammar/mistakes etc. I only just made an account 3 minutes ago (and - 20 seconds) ago... And I'm not from an english-speaking country or whatever. CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM IS MORE THAN WELCOME!
