When my first baby was born, he spent a small amount of time in the NICU. I heard this song playing at a nearby isolette, and forever now, it has special meaning to me. "I wish you out of the woods, and into the picture with me". All of those babies in the NICU were so fragile, and somewhere between nonexistence and existence. They were all "in the woods" so to speak, and every parent of one of those babies just wished them home, and into the picture where they belonged. It is an unbelievable experience, to become a parent, and a baby being born is their literal transformation into "being". For those babies who were sick, their parents were still somewhere in limbo - we all just wished our babies would "come out of the question, and be." And boy, the emotional rollercoaster that comes with that experience. Anyway, I don't know that this is the meaning that the songwriter intended, but I will never see this song to mean anything different.

People can complicate the meaning of songs. Your description is 100% accurate. A song is suppose to invoke an emotion. We won't share the exact experience as the writer, but we probably share the same emotion. Give the song 'Little Chief' by Xavier Rudd a listen. You might find you share both with him. Zak
