Well no one has yet to give an analysis of the song so by all means i will do my best.

Stanza one- describes their innocence on the world on how they were doing something very unknown to them. Even though they were both heading into different directions the person still cared for the girl deeply.

Stanza two- Shows that the guy would do anything to save the girl from what happened to her. He even would go as far as to disregard his own feelings just to help her out.

Stanza Three- Sounds like a confession that the guy all along knew what was going to happen but tries to justify that it was "merely something new." So it seems that he just accepted whatever it is they were doing because it was change.

Stanza Four- Repeat of stanza two.

Stanza Five- Explains that these two people had an idealist way of living shown to them. They had this illusion stuck inside their head that it led to them wanting to create this world themselves. A world where they can escape from the realities of life.

Stanza Six- Is where the tone of the song drastically changes. The person is hurt because the girl used him as an escape from things and it was whenever she needed him but as soon as she was fine she never contacted him. After what they been through, however, he saw her as something important.

Stanza Seven- Repeats part of Stanza six then explains that the guy had fallen in love with the girl but the girl fell into the wrong paths of life. She turned into a "call girl" as where he was now a "gentleman." She had an idea, or some sort of plan, that she knew that she was going to live this life of a harlot and he was going to live successfully.

Stanza Eight- Being the same as the beginning is short but powerful. It shows that the guy despite everything that she has grown to be still loves her.
