Verse 1 - STAYING INDOORS AT NIGHT: An introverted, peaceful, shy, nice guy. He stays indoors and "drinks melody" AKA plays music by himself at night. "No fistfights" = doesn't want to go out to bars and nightlife. Happy to be a quiet, nice musician.
Verse 2 - BECOMING MORE SOCIALLY TALENTED: Something changes. "A century of shadows lifted upwards and discarded into thin air" means that he's feeling the relief of a burden lifted, most likely his introverted ways. Now he feels comfortable enough to talk with strangers ("other's mothers") and he doesn't blush anymore, for some reason.
Verse 3 - MEETING SOMEONE, LOSING THEM, FEELING GRATEFUL TO HAVE MET THEM: Because of becoming more social, he meets someone. They introduce him to "great new ideas" and make a bond and impact with him. But over time they are pulled apart, or grow apart for whatever reason. He feels peaceful about the breakup (he's "a dedicated pacifist" remember), and remembers the relationship fondly now.
