Not Your Fault Lyrics

I feel like the narrator of this song is struggling with mixed emotions. Contrary to most commentators, I do not think he is abusive. With the words "Baby when I'm Yellin' at you, it's not your fault," He isn't literally yelling at the object of his affection, rather he's fighting with himself.

For example when he says "She's a ten, I'm a joke in my own mind," he's saying that he's insecure and doesn't feel worthy of her.

Also, if you've seen the music video, I believe it is a metaphor for the demons that plague his own mind and keep him from giving himself completely to his lover...But in the end he defeats them and can be with her.

I could totally just be over analyzing this though:p

My Interpretation

I think you've got it right, b0ldasl0ve. Another thing I see in the song is that he ultimately realizes he IS worthy of her. The "hey hey na na na" lines suggest that he is more confident and wants to shout about it. Towards the end, you see a slight doubt creeping in, but -- and maybe I am only seeing what I want here -- I think he realizes she's crazy about him, too.
