In Fear and Faith has a lot of Christians in their band, and I think this message is meant for someone who is adandoning God because of guilt.
Bring Back Hollow Reputations/ Coming back into a life to reestablish a reputation -- that is not exactly good -- to people who mean nothing to you.
It's Giving Me What I Desire/ They do this because it's nice to earn other's satisfaction.
Chorus/ The main character is basically saying to fight their guilt and the only way to do that is face their fears and go with Christ even in front of those who will scorn them or reject them because of that.
I am The Messenger/It's the main character saying: I'm bringing you the Word of God.
And I am The One You Trust With Your Last Breath/Christ saying: You rely on me.
And You're Missing The Point./ The person who has abandoned God is missing the point of what life is meant to be lived for. They are choosing things that won't last them beyond Death.
You're Missing The Point Of These Words./They are not understanding the real meaning of what God is saying and being "happy" in other ways.
You've Caused The Blood That's On Your Hands./The main character saying: You caused yourself to be guilty, now face it!
I Hope You See Your Own Life Flash Before Your Eyes./I hope you see all the things you've done, right and wrong and realize that the latter overwhelms the former.
And Find That Point, In Your Life When You Realize,
That There's Something That You've Lost./And see when you lost what should mean the most to you, God.
And Something Went Terribly Wrong./And you did whatever makes you feel guilty, and therefore afraid to face God and his judgement.
With Your Last Breath, Until You Relapse, Collapse./The main character saying: I hope until you change and relapse back to who you were, you collapse and realize that until you got back to that way, nothing will go YOUR way.
I am The Messenger/I'm bringing you the word of God.
I am The One You Trust With Your Last Breath./Christ: You rely on me for life and I give you every breath till your last.
And I'm Betting You'll Find, I'm Betting You'll Find A Way To./ Christ: I have faith that you will find your way back.
Why Aren't You Trying To Escape? (x3)/ But why aren't you trying to get away from the things that will only make you relapse back into that hollow reputation?
You Say You Need A Great Purpose/ You say the reason you won't relapse to God is because you need a great purpose (which comes from the mortal approval of those who appreciate your hollow reputation).
I Say You Need To See What's Coming./ Main Character: You need to see what means more and that when you die, if it is very soon, you aren't going to unprepared to face God for what you've done and run away from.
Personally, I saw this because 1) They are all Christians and although they aren't always singing songs to God, they do. 2) I constantly want to say this to some in my family, and I feel exactly like this because I know the only reason they've turned from God. And 3) Because I was like this once in my life, and seriously? It fucking sucked ass. Constant guilt and fear. Ugh.
Anyways, there you go!
