To me this song seems to be about suicide. The opening lines (which are repeated several times) seem to lead to this theory, "I haven't shot this thing in years. Do you think I'll fold?" seems to be the narrator holding the gun to his head while looking back on his life before he pulls the trigger, asking himself or the person who led him to this if they think he's too weak to go through with it. There is a lot of regret, pain, and darkness shrouded in these lyrics. Although cryptic as they are, I feel they are very straightforward unlike a few entries in this beautiful album.
