I think this is a brilliant song, with an obvious literal interpretation and then a metaphorical meaning behind that. It's pretty obviously about a cowboy dude in Texas or something who's riding round the deserts with his lover, on the run from the police, and he's telling her not to stop if he gets killed, just to keep on going. It's metaphorically about trying to get the person you love to carry on, even without you, which shows true love more than anything else could.
God, the second time the chorus starts and Gerard sings "don't stop" pretty much without any backing noise sends shivers down my spine (very good ones). It's one of my favourite MCR lines/hooks! Brilliant song, one of my favourite from my favourite band.
