I thought I had my girl but she ran away My car got stolen and I'm gonna be late For work this week, make that the fourth day straight But I'm fine with it

I thought I had it all but I gave it away I quit that old job now I'm doing okay Those material things they can't get in my way Cause I'm over it

( I feel that from the first two stanza's are examples of the endless possibilities that can happen. and him not dwelling over the bad things and just kind of accepting it and moving on with life.)

But whatever she may be She could be money, cars, fear of the dark Your best friends or just strangers in bars Whoever she is, whoever she may be One thing's for sure, you don't have to worry

( I feel that the word 'She' is used as a metaphor to anything that one may care of and is having trouble with. Basically he's saying that whatever/whoever 'she' is that someone you shouldn't worry or stress about 'she')

Yeah this is the part where you find out who you are And these are the friends, those who've been there from the start So to hell with the bad news Dirt on your new shoes It rained all of May 'til the month of June

[I feel that it means that we should be learning more about ourself and finding who we are. And to focus and appreciate the friends that know you and that have been supporting you and to spend time with your true friends. Not to let the bad news (which he uses dirt on your new shoes and raining all of june and may as examples) get to you.

Every day in every way she will look the same Every care you used to have just seems to float away Every day in every way she will look the same Every care you used to have just seems to float away To hell with your new shit And whether or not you think you fit in

(I feel that in this stanza he's saying as the days pass you will realise that the 'she' you were worrying about will be clear and all the solution will be clear. Also the last two lines in the stanza shows that you shouldn't have to please people by knowing all the 'latest' gossips or trends and worrying about fitting in with a group of people. Basically saying to be yourself and stop thinking of what others will think too much.)

She could be money, cars, fear of the dark Your best friends or just strangers in bars Whoever she is, whoever she may be One thing's for sure

She could be rainy days, minimum wage, A book that ends with no last page Whoever she is, whoever she may be One thing's for sure, you don't have to worry

(Basically in the last two stanza's he's listing all the problems that one could be facing making the word she a metaphor to all the problems again. And stating once again to not worry, and look ahead with a positive mindset.)

Thats what I have interpreted from the song at least. Hope it helps or fascinates anyone.
