this album fell flat on my ears the first time i listened to it. however, after a week a steady listening, it's really coming alive and this song is one of the leaders.

This song is definitely to do with being unfulfilled in your life. Could be interpreted in a couple of ways from there, but to me it's about having had someone close to you earlier in your life who you believed in. You used to share all your bad (and good) ideas with, and maybe you only realised later in life whether those ideas were good or bad. Then wondering...
