When I hear this, I think of the association between being drunk and lovesick- and all that it entails. "I feel better now I've seen you" in that you can't help but to feel good around someone you're in love with, but at the same time it's killing you. With the lights being on, I picture exposure and indiscretion with being drunk and not being able to hide your feelings anymore.
