I'm just going to guess at the meaning line by line because sometimes metal lyrics are just mad libs. I think this song is about a man who takes brutal (and conscience-wracking) vengeance on someone close to him, after his "soul is betrayed." The first two lines talk about the isolation the man feels while planning his vengeance. The next five lines are about reaching the point of no return and deciding to let out his dark desires. As a side note I believe the demons he is talking about are symbolic for aggressive/unacceptable impulses. "The reddest of blood Bled into the Deepest of grays." The deepest of grays refers to the moral gray area of taking revenge for something, most likely a life for a life (reddest of blood). "The restlessness of a soul betrayed" refers to the terrible feelings the man is experiencing after being betrayed by someone close to him. I have no idea what to make of the next 6 lines. The switch of reference point from one person to "we" seems particularly odd. Perhaps this means his body (pure impulse) and his conscience have separated. "While the Black moonlight burns through this grin" would seem to back up my guess, as the man is now grinning while planning to kill. The next four lines seem to suggest that the person(s) killed does not deserve it (angels ever ending up dead). "The brief moment Cuts through the regret Ending sleepless in this moonlit cold sweat." The brief moment here is the pleasure of carrying out the kill(s), which overrides the pangs of conscience for a short time. "WHO WILL YOU DIE FOR TONIGHT? WHO WILL YOU SEARCH FOR AT FIRST LIGHT?" This line undercuts my interpretation, unless the killer is also killed, dying for himself. I think this may be a mad lib line that fits with the overall theme of death and destruction. This was the Absence's best album by far IMO.
