I think he might be using evolution as a metaphor for his experience of growing up and meeting a girl. Out of the water, thought we were only animals, felt like a thousand years. Its almost as if hes saying we've coming so far from water but now we are denying that we came from water and are hiding in a false reality of technology the "radios hot sun".
