I've been listening to Distant Relatives a lot recently. Whats funny about it in the context of the Nas v Jay-Z beef is that Jay-Z could Never make an album like that. He just doesn't have anything to say. He's like a child next to Nas. Nas goes deep and Jay-Z just skims the money off the surface. I don't really understand why he ever went at Nas in the first place. Its like a thick student taking on the professor and not expecting to get burned.
This track is nothing special musically or lyrically but the pure directness of the lyrics is just great. Neg-ro please. Says it all. Nas dismisses him like he's nothing.
