I think most of dead weather's songs are about relationships where one of them has a lot of power above the other.
But also it's kinda sad if you always analyze it as a BAD thing. It's just what happens if you have a strong personality and fall always in love with passive people.
I don't think that the strong one wants to manipulate the situation. As a matter of fact, he just wants to protect the weak one(cause he knows that he's stronger). But in retrospection he knows that it's a wrong reason to affect the other's life, but it's the only way that he knows how to be.
