It's about people who change ("cannot recogize your face anymore") who they are because of those things and become vain persons without the morals and/or limits which they once had, thus becoming a "monster".
The lyricist asks if it was worthy, if it tastes good now that they have changed. So, giving up who you were was worth the benefits? Are you so great now? Are those things you wanted so bad that good as you thought?
