The first time I heard it the lyrics reminded me of "Poisonous friend" by Seabound but perhaps only because of that line "you say i'm the worst friend ever".
I think the song is so intense, about an on-and-off romantic friendship, in which both are hurting each other without even meaning to, perhaps as a way to protect their individual pride or something.
I just love that line of "twisted story, too precious to be told", and "whatever you come up with, please try it out on me". kind of masochistic perhaps...
