Pistol Whipped Lyrics

Pretty plain and simple song:

"You look so pretty when you cry. I don’t want to hit you but the only thing between our love is (1) a bloody nose (2) a busted lip, and (3) a blackened eye."

Not to condone violence against women, but I think this is more of a "I'd rather" kind of option for him. It kind of succeeds the theme from The High End of Low, all the analogies to "If I can't make love work... You say you want to die with me, okay, let's go; but I'll kill you first because I don't trust you." (He said that in an interview, by the way).

"You’re a little pistol and I’m fucking pistol whipped." --Pretty self-explanatory, but:

The Love Song (a song that was inspired in part by Happiness is a Warm Gun) "I've got a crush on a pretty pistol, should I tell her that I feel this way. Father told us to be faithful ... Mother says that we should look away." - "Happiness is a warm gun. When I hold you in my arms, and I feel my finger on your trigger I know nobody can do me no harm."

The gun has always been a allusion to a woman. And we all know what it means to be "whipped" as we all know what a pistol whip is.
