I tend to think that the "in your hand" lyric hints at a hand as in a card game--that is, what you bring to the table. Note the references to a "score sheet." In other words, take your own inventory, rather than other people's.
I feel the song is about self responsibility. It is easy to look at others and condemn them for what seem to be their wrongs. Such behavior only adds more toxins to the world.
I am tempted to find the references to masturbation satirical, but I am not sure either way. Regardless, this song is a great reminder of our holographic nature, that when we care for ourselves--including being a joy to others and sharing our feelings with them, conditions change for the better.
