I agree with you guys he is leaving his girlfriend but i think it means he doesnt want to see her cry, because it breaks his heart and thats why he cant see her face in his mind because he knows he will see her crying and he cant stand it, and thats why he says he wont need her picure until they say goodbye because when they say goodbye she will be crying but she wont be crying in her picture.
