I could think of no better way to start this album. At the first sound of this I fell in love. It rolls perfectly into Some Nights.
I think this relates to Nate bouncing back and forth from loving to perform to wanting it to be over (first two lines)
I think the part "some nights I live in horror of people on the radio, tea parties and twitter, I've never been so bitter" refers to the criticism and negativity that comes through social media and politics and feeling like there is no way to avoid it.
Anyhow, I could be wrong. But regardless, this song is BRILLIANT.
