This is possibly THE greatest "song about love" ever, on the hopelessness and helplessness of falling for someone and all logic flying out of the window in the process, of being helpless to our genetic programming no matter how 'knowing' and cynical one is... It's both the most humorous, true and self-aware account of 'falling in love' there is ever likely to be, genius in itself but made even more by the use of the then-popular X-Files detectives names in the chorus, and by Cerys Matthews unique delivery.
I think this will, in time, resonate as one of the greatest tracks of the 90's era.
