Cover art for Therein lyrics by Dark Tranquillity

I'm not claiming to be able to interpret this song, but i think the notion of order and chaos from a human point of view is important. The universe basically just exists, humans try to see things in it and also build from it, e.g. somewhat ordered societies. On different levels, i.e. throughout a lifetime, as well as through the history of mankind and also of the universe, once can see turmoil as well as stability. Science and art are means to look at it and express it, that's what humans do and that might be the source of the energy one starves oneself for.

"Therein lies the beauty" appears three times, always preceded by some part of the refrain: "Had there always been balance, surely not" "Was it always different, never the same" Was it always solid, never to change" That's a very clear hint towards change in general, an imbalance that strives to reach a state of harmony, yet never reaching it. A constant movement, that apparently is beautiful.
