Asking death (God?) to spare him for a little longer. Used in the movie O Brother, Where Art Thou? I can imagine people from the very distant past singing such songs, as opposed to what we would most likely hear from today's musicians: I want one last screw with a large-breasted woman and a cold beer before the devil takes me to my playground:) ...sorry, just thinking about how much music has changed over the decades due to the changes in society.
