Lyric discussion by Amelialazyeye

I believe "first floor people" are those who live on earth, reading "books on how not to fall" and simply going through the monotony of life with no thoughts on what happens after. I guess those on the "second floor" would be those in heaven or the afterlife. "This hole is deeper by the hour-my hands are bleeding, I spin around. You're nowhere." To me, this lyrics seems like Jesus, taking the cross and being separated from God for that time of death, because he graciously took on our sins. He's suffering for human kind, turns around, and realizes He has to do it alone for human kind. How lovely~

I agree with the whole heaven and earth and hell thing. In the beginning they're talking about being a believer in the touch situations 'being covered in dirt from the floor I'm seeing straight'. Then the main melody sounds like someone's died and the singer is struggling to believe in heaven 'who am I to fool now if you're gone, you're gone'. They're saying that they're fooling themselves believing in God. And because they've lost faith they go to hell 'if i am found below the ground', then they'll be searching and desperate. It fits in all the lines....
